1 year sober
It's wild, coming up on 1 year, I've been reflecting a lot lately on how much our perception of "freedom" changes. Before, I thought freedom was being able to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, like no consequences. But now? I see it so differently. True freedom, for me, is the ability to choose not to do something, even when the old urges are screaming at you. It's the POWER to say no, to pause, to breathe, and to make a different choice. That's a liberation I never knew existed, and it's SO much more profound than any fleeting escape. It's truly transformative.
