Ugh, family. Sometimes I swear they try to kill you with kindness while simultaneously triggering every single raw nerve you have! My aunt just called to "check in" and immediately started in with the "Oh, you're looking so healthy now!" which is fine, but then she follows it up with, "We were all so worried, you know. It's just so good to have the old you back." The OLD me? That's what you think you're getting?! It's like they completely erase everything before this point, and this is NOT the old me. This is me, but better, and stronger, and figuring things out. It's so frustrating trying to explain that this isn't a temporary fix; this is who I am now. Like, CAN I LIVE. Needed to get that off my chest.
