Is Super Bowl Sunday very triggering for anyone else? I am struggling today! I’m 3 weeks sober. Really trying to focus on playing the tape forward. If I had a drink right now, I’d probably feel excitement and relief for 20 minutes, followed by intense anxiety for relapsing which would then trigger more drinking, which would then trigger probably a week of shame and self hate. Let’s not throw away our progress for 20 minutes of fake relief. Wishing you all a peaceful sober Super Bowl Sunday. Remember to give yourself space if you need it, take some deep breaths, and play the tape forward. We got this!
